We are a supplier of custom off-road wheels for the petroleum, mining, agricultural, forestry, motor sports and construction industries.

FTC Enterprises started in 1969 as a tire store serving customers primarily in just northwestern Indiana, but the founder soon saw greater opportunity in building custom wheels. This eventually become the company’s sole focus and it now provides customized wheel and rim assemblies to customers all across North America.

Seeing local farmers and excavators struggle with wet conditions one year, the innovative workers at FTC helped pioneer the development of flotation wheels. This early entry into that market helped FTC become a major supplier of wheels for off-road vehicles.

The company operated successfully for decades, but struggled through the Great Recession. The prior owner, who at that time had been running the place for 30+ years, had lost his passion for the business and, frankly, let some things slide. 

Sensing an opportunity, in 2012 local entrepreneurs Ron and Jennifer Barlow, purchased the business. 

Ron has a background in welding and fabrication and also large equipment mechanics. Together with his wife, he had built up and then sold two successful businesses and had several other businesses in operation at the time.

With deep roots in the area, Ron and Jennifer were looking for a local investment they could turn into a long-lasting successful business that they can stay in until retirement. “We’re hoping our children will choose to work with us, when they get out of school,” commented Jennifer. 

Since taking over at FTC, the Barlows have set to work streamlining processes, improving efficiency, purchasing updated equipment, and making necessary changes to the team. Those that made the cut are FTC’s most seasoned employees, with decades of experience. 

“Most importantly, we’re busting our butts to take the best possible care of our customers,” says Ron. “We know from experience that good customer service is key to growing a business. All of us here will bend over backwards to meet our customers needs.”
